Having spent 3 years focusing on his stranger-than-fiction memoir ‘Me, Myself and Eye’, [sic] aka Dan Jeffries returns to the music that has defined his existence for over two decades.
As a veteran DJ, production tutor and House music enthusiast, it’s no surprise that his return, aptly entitled ‘The Homecoming’, is simultaneously club-friendly, immaculately produced and a true champion of thinking person’s House Music. Techy, Deep and providing plenty bottom-end, The Homecoming’s 3 tracks take us on a journey through intense flavours and bombastic money-shots.
The Tunnel channels Acidic bass, skittering vocal chops and a chunky four-to-the-floor beat into a heads-down dance floor workout, while The Lair’s almost Techno vibe adds depth and video-game tension into the mix. EP closer ‘Ghosts’ is a proper beast – rattling, Bassline style bass, raucous percussion and a kind of free-party abandon perfect for 3am freak-outs.
